Millbank - the beating heart of London

Millbank, slap-bang in the middle of Central London, is home to all manner of important buildings with offices linked to finance, government and business. This makes it convenient both for travel to and from the district, as well as ensuring a thriving shopping, cafe and restaurant presence. It's also home to the Tate Britain, an ideal place to take a step back from the hustle-bustle and enjoy some culture.

Take in the sights Nearby

Millbank lies just south of Westminster, with the Palace of Westminster, Big Ben, 10 Downing Street and Westminster Bridge all within easy reach. Also Nearby are the Florence Nightingale Museum, which while small provides a fascinating insight into the life and work of the Lady of the Lamp, and the London Eye.

Take a walk on the wild side

Just across Westminster Bridge is the excellent Sea Life London aquarium, which is a must for those interested in the natural world. To see some decidedly bigger - and fluffier - critters, venture 30 minutes north by road (or 40 minutes on public transport - look for the Jubilee Line) to Regent's Park, where London Zoo provides an excellent adventure, particularly for young ones.

Looking for a cheap hotel in Millbank? Travelodge London Vauxhall Hotel lies just across the river, a 15-minute walk away or 10 minutes by tube. Travelodge London Central Waterloo Hotel and Travelodge London Central Covent Garden Hotel are also worth considering.
