Home to TV studios and Winnie the Pooh
Just north of London in peaceful Hertfordshire, Elstree is home to some famous working film and TV studios. Strictly fans might be able to bag audience tickets to a recording or those seeking the limelight could also try the Warner Bros Studio Tour in Leavesden about 20 minutes away by car. Winnie fans can play Pooh Sticks in the 100 Aker Wood at Aldenham Country Park, and have their picture taken with the famous bear as he tidies up the park at 2pm.
Take to the air at Flight Training London
The closest aerodrome to north and central London, Flight Training London offers flying lessons, trials and experience flights. Get your private pilot's licence or just enjoy the thrill of taking to the skies in a small plane to see London's skyline from above. If you're into planes you might also want to visit the de Havilland Aircraft Museum, or take a helicopter flight from VVB Aviation services.
Head into historic St Albans
St Albans Cathedral is the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Britain and parts of the medieval church still stand today. Climb the clock tower in the square for views over the rooftops.
