Cafe society in Stanmore

Close to Edgware and at the end of the Jubilee line, Stanmore is an extremely well-connected spot, handy for Wembley Stadium and the sights and sounds of central London. But it's also a great place to spend time in itself. Cute and stylish restaurants, cafes and pubs, plus an abundance of independent shops for browsing, make this leafy north west London suburb a lesser-known gem.

At one with nature at Stanmore Country Park

Follow the nature trail that winds its way over a mile across Stanmore Country Park. This delightful open space, which is full of wildflowers, is a great place for getting away from the hustle and bustle of town. If you're lucky, you might spot some of the Muntjac and Roe deer that make their homes here. You can also get some great views of wider London from the many observation points.

Visit the Royal Airforce Museum

The Royal Air Force Museum in Colindale is just a 20-minute drive from Stanmore. Here you can see Spitfires, Harriers and other fascinating aircraft from the First and Second World Wars. Planning a trip to Stanmore? The Travelodge Borehamwood Hotel and Travelodge Borehamwood Studio Way Near Elstree Studios are both about 20 minutes away by car.
