Seven centuries of history at Shendish Manor

Shendish Manor is a popular wedding venue and golf course, in the village of Apsley, not far from Hemel Hempstead. The manor house itself was built in the 1300s and has had many owners over the last seven centuries. It was even used as an army base during World War I. The Nearby village of in Apsley is a 19th-century mill village. Although it has only a handful of amenities, there's a lovely canal - perfect for an afternoon's stroll along the banks.

Central London in half an hour

Apsley to London Euston takes just over 30 minutes on the train, so if you plan on taking in the sights of the capital after your visit to Shendish Manor, it won't take you long to be in the thick of it. Just a few minutes' walk from Euston Station you'll find the British Museum, which tops the chart as the number one thing to do in London. In Nearby Regent's Park you'll find the ZSL London Zoo, which has a smorgasbord of animals and creatures and makes for a great family day out.
