Seven centuries of history at Shendish Manor
Shendish Manor is a popular wedding venue and golf course, in the village of Apsley, not far from Hemel Hempstead. The manor house itself was built in the 1300s and has had many owners over the last seven centuries. It was even used as an army base during World War I. The Nearby village of in Apsley is a 19th-century mill village. Although it has only a handful of amenities, there's a lovely canal - perfect for an afternoon's stroll along the banks.

Apsley to London Euston takes just over 30 minutes on the train, so if you plan on taking in the sights of the capital after your visit to Shendish Manor, it won't take you long to be in the thick of it.
