A touch of magic at Warner Bros Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter

With its location Near the M25 just north of Watford, the The Warner Brothers Studio tour is easy to find, but once you step through the doors, it'll be hard to leave. The multi-award-winning attraction gives visitors the chance to see up close the sets and props that went into making all eight films at these studios. Wander through the Great Hall, down Diagon Alley, peep into the Gryffindor Common Room and the Weasley's kitchen, pose for a selfie at the Privet Drive sign and have a go on a broomstick before enjoying a well-earned butterbeer. Oh, and be thoroughly spooked out in the Forbidden Forest, new in 2017.

More magic with Roald Dahl

Around half an hour from here lies an attraction devoted to another very popular children's author - Roald Dahl. Visitors young and old will love the Roald Dahl Children's Gallery at Buckinghamshire County Museum in Aylesbury where you can explore sound with the BFG and crawl down Fantastic Mr Fox's tunnel. Cassiobury Park in Nearby Watford is another great place to visit, with fishing, bowls, tennis and croquet, children's parks and more than 190 acres to wander.
