Visit British artist Henry Moore's former home in Nearby Perry Green; see his family home, look behind the scenes at his studio to learn how his sculptures were created, and explore over 70 acres of gardens and countryside. While away a few hours at the Harlow Museum, learning about the history of the local area from ancient times to modern day, before venturing into its three main gardens that are home to many rare and unusual species of wildlife (open May to September).

Days out with the kids

Kids will love Pets' Corner, a small, friendly open farm in Harlow Town Park, with a large selection of traditional farm animals as well some more exotic breeds, including reindeer, llamas and alpacas. On a rainy day, venture over to The Playbarn, a two story play frame as well as a lovely sunny garden and outdoor play area.

The great outdoors

Visit Sawbridgeworth Marsh Nature Reserve, 22 acres of marshland in the valley of the River Stort, and home to a wide variety of plants, insects and aquatic life. Take a trip to the Gibberd Garden, an inspirational and fascinating Grade II listed garden. Wander among sculptures and decorative objects, over lawns, among pools and streams, through a wild garden, an arboretum and even a moated castle.
