Catch the spectacular Jacobite steam train from Fort William Train Station

Fort William Train Station operates services to Glasgow and Mallaig, for journeys on to the isle of Skye. With a free car park for rail users and a tourist information office on site, the station offers lots for passengers but it's best known for being the place to catch the Jacobite steam train made famous by the Harry Potter films. The stunning 84-mile round trip is regarded as one of the world's finest railway journeys and includes the breath-taking Glenfinnan Viaduct, which you see in the films.

Exploring Fort William, Britain's outdoor capital

Nestled between Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, and the shores of Loch Linnhe, it's easy to see why Fort William is known as the UK's outdoor capital. Many visitors like to challenge themselves with a hike up Ben Nevis but make sure you're prepared as it's a tough climb and the weather can easily change. Other lovely walks include the stunning Steall Falls or the ruins of Old Inverlochy Castle.
