Rockin' out at Download Festival
Download is Britain's foremost rock and heavy metal festival and is held every June at Donington Park, just minutes from East Midlands Airport and the M1. Celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2018, Download has attracted some of music's biggest names including Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Black Sabbath, Guns n' Roses and the Prodigy.
Exploring south Derbyshire
If you fancy a quiet stroll in the countryside after all that noise head to the stunning grounds of Calke Abbey in the Nearby village of Ticknall. Nottingham is within easy reach and you can catch a coach from East Midlands Airport to the city's tram system. Take a selfie next to the Robin Hood statue Near the castle; visit the National Justice Museum for the chance to explore some of the city's underground caves, or nosey round the shops on Bridlesmith Gate.
