Lights! Camera! Action! - visit the Lyric Theatre

Half a mile from Charing Cross Hospital, the Lyric Theatre is rightly proud of its cutting-edge contemporary theatre. Originally built as a music hall in 1888, it regularly presents brand new shows from hot young talent, as well as exciting adaptations of old classics. The theatre also has its own dedicated range of shows for 2-11 year-olds, known under the Little Lyric strand.

Nelson's Column - one to tick off your bucket list

Under seven miles from the hospital, Nelson's Column is one of London's most iconic attractions. Located in Trafalgar Square, the monument, built in 1843, commemorates Admiral Horatio Nelson, who died at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Tourists flock to this world-famous statue - yet there were calls in 2017 for the statue to be pulled down for political reasons. However, Nelson's Column is unlikely to be going anywhere - it's an essential part of the capital.
