Take the canal from Paddington

The canal is at the heart of Paddington. Take a boat trip up to Camden, where you can enjoy an afternoon browsing the vibrant markets, or stroll along the waterfront from the Paddington Basin to Little Venice. If you're looking for a spot of lunch, Paddington's canals are lined with a wealth of trendy cafes, bars and pubs.

Spend the day in Hyde Park...

Paddington station is a mere 10-minute walk from Hyde Park, the largest of London's four Royal Parks. It's home to a number of beautiful sculptures by artists like Jacob Epstein, as well as the Serpentine Lake and the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain. If you're feeling opinionated, why not get on your soapbox at Speaker's Corner? This area of Hyde Park has hosted public speeches and debates since it was established in the late nineteenth century.

Get active at Merchant Square

If you're looking for something different, head to Merchant Square. This estate in central Paddington boasts fun and games for all the family. Try your hand at table tennis or challenge a friend to a game of Petanque on the specially-built courts. It's not just games on offer. Watch the Water Maze light up in the evening, admire the mechanical marvel that is the moving Fan Bridge, or visit the Floating Pocket Park suspended over the Grand Union Canal.
