Gateway to the River Thames

Teddington lies on the bank of the Thames on the border of Greater London. It's home to the Teddington Lock, known as the gateway to the non-tidal Thames. Visit the lock to admire the fantastic views across the river in both directions. There's plenty of pubs and beer gardens Nearby, and leading off from the lock are footpaths and cycle paths leading into Teddington town centre. For a longer walk, head along the Thames Path to Hampton Court Park and the palace.

Teddington prides itself on its traditional pubs, and there's certainly a couple to look out for while you're in the town. If you're up Near Teddington Lock, head to The Angliers, a friendly community pub with a beer garden and kids' playground. A day out in Twickenham

While you're in the area, be sure to visit Twickenham, the home of the Rugby Union. As well as the famous stadium, with tours starting from �20, you can visit stately Strawberry Hill House or take a stroll through the idyllic York House Gardens.
