A sporting destination

While it's only a mile outside of the major attractions of Nottingham city centre, West Bridgford has an identity that's all its own. Just south of the River Trent, it's a popular destination for sports fans as the home of Nottingham Forest's City Ground and Trent Bridge international cricket ground. It's also got the National Water Sports Centre where you can try your hand at kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding and more.

West Bridgford is becoming well known for its impressive array of restaurants, with plenty of great value options. Yumacha serves up tasty oriental tapas and dim sum, while escabeche is the place for traditional tapas and live music. The Mud Crab diner is another popular spot, and the Larwood and Voce gastro pub is great for a special dinner or Sunday lunch. When in town don't miss out on a visit to the famous Trent Bridge Inn.

Pretty park

Leafy Bridgford Park is one of the area's true gems. This Victorian open space has a tree trail, fitness trail and junior and teenage play areas. You can hire tennis courts and there's a cafe too. Planning a trip to West Bridgford? The Travelodge Nottingham Riverside Hotel is a 10-minute drive away. The Travelodge Nottingham Central Hotel puts you at the heart of the city's attractions and is just a short bus ride from West Bridgford.
