Down by the river in Nottingham

Set in a deer park, this spectacular Elizabethan country house famously doubled as Wayne Manor for the 2012 Batman film Dark Knight Rises. As well as its movie connections, it's home to Nottingham’s Natural History Museum, where you’ll find a preserved duck-billed platypus and George the gorilla. Entry to the hall is free, but there’s a small charge to park your car.
