Hit the road - or not

A large, affluent village close to Walsall, Aldridge is a lovely place to visit with plenty to see and do. Slightly further afield, Wolverhampton and Sutton Coldfield are within easy reach, while Birmingham is just 10 miles to the south. Aldridge village itself is home to the Aston Manor Road Transport Museum, meaning it's quite possible to enjoy a family day out without even getting in a car (unless it's one of the exhibits).

Take in a round of golf

Druid's Heath Golf Course lies right on the east edge of the village and offers a challenging, par 72 course over 6,665 yards. Beautifully designed and landscaped with gently undulating fairways and quick sloping greens, it rewards those who plan their game carefully.

Step back in time at the Letocetum

The Nearby Letocetum is an ancient Roman bath house, inn, military post and settlement. With free entry, it's certainly a great way of inspiring kids and introducing them to Britain's fascinating Roman past. Planning a trip to Aldridge? Travelodge Birmingham Streetly hotel is just four miles south, while Travelodge Birmingham Hilton Park M6 Southbound hotel is ideal for travellers heading from the North.
