Days out with the kids

Take a trip on a steam train at the South Downs Light Railway, which runs through the grounds of Pulborough Garden Centre and out into the beautiful West Sussex countryside. Hop in the car for a day out at Climping Beach, quieter than the neighbouring Littlehampton and Bognor Regis beaches, but still with the toilets and cafe you need for any trip with the kids.

Get back to nature

Spot wildlife from a boat safari, hand feed rare geese, or enjoy gentle strolls and peaceful picnics in the ancient woods at the Arundel Wetland Centre. Enjoy a great day out at Pulborough Brooks RSPB reserve, set within the stunning South Downs National Park, and boasting a great variety of habitats including wetlands, woodland and heathland, all teaming with wildlife.

For history enthusiasts

Step back in time with a tour of Bignor Roman villa, the stunning remains of a Roman home with some of the best preserved mosaic floors in England. Visit St Botolph's Church, a tiny church with original wall paintings from the 11th century. Spend the day at Parham House, enjoying its art collections, unaltered Elizabethan rooms, antiques, pleasure grounds and walled garden.
