Visit the historic abbey in Malmesbury

Situated around 16 miles west of Swindon, the market town of Malmesbury in Wiltshire is located in the southern part of the Cotswolds. The area is perhaps best known for the stunning Malmesbury Abbey, a fantastic example of 12th century architecture that remains in use today. It also sits next to the Abbey House Gardens, five acres of spectacular greenery and other features.

Get active at Cotswolds Water Park

Malmesbury's location means it is an ideal base for exploring everything that the Cotswolds have to offer. The Cotswolds Water Park is home to 150 lakes set across around 40 square miles of land, with available activities ranging from kayaking, rowing and many more. Alternatively, Westonbirt, the National Arboretum is home to a treetop walkway which offers fantastic views of the area's incredible landscape.

Stone circles and more at Avebury

While Malmesbury is home to its fair share of history, visitors to the area can head back to the Neolithic period with a trip to the stone circles in the village of Avebury.
