From 5 days before your stay we’ll send you an email and text. Click on the personalised link and download the app which will automatically log you in ready for your stay.
We'll text and email you a personalised link on the morning of your arrival. When it's time to check in, open the app and click the 'check in' button. Your digital room key will be added to the app and you can head straight to your room on arrival.
Our St Albans hotel is a bit different to other Travelodge hotels you may have stayed at. You’ll need our Travelodge Digital Key app to access everything you need to enjoy your stay: check in, unlock your room, find useful hotel and local information.
5 days before arrival we will email you a personalised link to download and automatically log into our Travelodge Digital Key app.
You can also download the app via the App Store or Google Play in advance but your booking will not appear in the app until 5 days before your arrival date.
Please call the hotel on 03719 848 848 [option 3] (calls charged at local rates) to discuss. You can also contact us using the ‘telephone chat’ icon in the footer of the app when your booking appears 5 days before your stay.
We do not have luggage storage. If you wish to store luggage please extend your check in or check out time*.
Up to midday on the day of arrival, this can be done in the Manage Bookings section of our website here, via the link in our pre-arrival emails, or by calling the hotel on 03719 848 848 [option 3] (calls charged at local rates).
After midday, you can contact us to arrange via the ‘telephone chat’ icon in the app or the ‘tap to chat’ button on the lobby kiosk.

Cots are free to book. Please check ahead for availability, as these are on a first come first served basis. To book before your stay, contact us via the ‘telephone chat’ icon in the app, or call the hotel on 03719 848 848 [option 3] (calls charged at local rates).
Check in via our Travelodge Digital Key app or use one of the kiosks in the hotel lobby.
On the app, a ‘check in’ button will appear in the ‘Stay’ tab on the day of your arrival.
Once check in opens, just click the button to check in. It can take up to 30 seconds to refresh your booking with your room number.
If you check in on the way to the hotel, you can head straight to your room when you arrive.

WiFi is free at St Albans. You can use this to download and use the app at the hotel. It’s easy to connect, just switch your computer or mobile device to wireless by selecting ‘Travelodge WiFi’ and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you are downloading or using the app away from the hotel you will need WiFi or mobile data to download and use the app.
Wireless charging and USB/USC points are available within the seating area opposite the kiosks in the hotel lobby.
To use the digital room key on your phone, simply tap the ‘Key’ tab once checked in on the Travelodge Digital Key app. Tap the image to activate the key and then hold the back of your phone on the door lock.
For the key to work each time, you must allow Location Services ‘whilst using the app’ or ‘Always’.
(Your room number is shown in both the ‘Stay’ and the ‘Key’ tab.)
Your key will open your room, the hotel front door and communal areas.
(Key cards can also be dispensed by the kiosk in the hotel lobby).
A combination of up to 3 digital keys and key cards can be issued per room.
To share a digital key with another guest, tap the ‘share key’ button on the ‘Key’ tab and enter their details. They’ll be sent an invitation to download and log into the app.
You can either set up the app on your phone and use the digital key, or go to the kiosk in the hotel lobby to print an extra key card.
Your room number will be shown within the ‘Key’ tab of the app once you have checked in.
On the kiosk, you will be shown your room number when your keycard dispenses and will be sent an email and/or SMS confirming your room number.

Simply pop down to the ground floor of the hotel. You’ll find a cupboard marked ‘Storage’ for towels tucked behind the Bar Café sign in the lobby. Extra tea/coffee can be found on top of the cupboard.
Please take the extra items you require being mindful of other guests’ needs.
If you’re staying more than one night and need us to refresh your towels, top up tea & coffee and empty the bins, please put your ‘Top Up’ hanger out before 11:00.
If you need an extra towel urgently or extra tea and coffee, simply pop down to the ground floor of the hotel. You’ll find a cupboard marked ‘Storage’ for towels tucked behind the Bar Café sign in the lobby. Extra tea/coffee can be found at the end of the bar in the Bar Café.
If you are staying more than 6 nights your room will be cleaned automatically on the 7th day of your stay. If you do not wish to have your room cleaned at all during your stay, please place the Do Not Disturb door hanger outside your room.
This is not possible. We recommend making a reservation directly with our Bar Café to avoid disappointment at busy times.
Travelodge hotels do not offer room service.
There’s a cupboard with hairdryers and irons/ironing boards in the lift lobby on floors 1-4 of the hotel.
Please return after use for other guests.
If not pre-arranged, these are available on a first come first served basis. Contact us to check availability via the ‘telephone chat’ icon in the app or the ‘tap to chat’ button on the lobby kiosk.
Unless late check out is booked, check out is at 12 noon. If you have used a room key please drop it in the key drop box by the lifts on the ground floor. If you have used the app for your room key, simply tap the ‘check out’ button on the ‘Stay’ tab.
