- M: markets…hunt for bargains at the Pimlico car boot sale or browse the antiques at Portobello.
- N: National Theatre…there’s no better place to catch a show than at this multi-stage theatre showing a mix of British classics and new work.
- O: Oxford Street…the most famous shopping street in the city, but also the busiest. Visit early in the morning to avoid the crowds.
- P: ponds…Head to Hampstead Heath and take a dip in the swimming ponds.
- Q: Queen…Perhaps Britain’s biggest tourist attraction. Visit Buckingham Palace and see if the Royal Standard is flying. If it is, the Queen is at home.
- R: roast lunch…You can’t visit London without having a good roast. Most pubs will serve roast lunch on Sunday.
- S: South Bank…on a sunny day, this is the place to be. Walk the river path and take in the atmosphere.
- T: Tower Bridge…an icon on the River Thames.
- U: underground…by far the best way to get around the city.
- V: Victoria and Albert Museum…set aside an afternoon to explore this enormous collection of historical artefacts and art works.
- W: Westminster Abbey…an essential part of London’s history.
- X: explore…OK, not quite, but a trip to the capital wouldn’t be complete without time to get lost and explore. Walk the streets on foot or hire a Barclay’s bike to cover a bigger area .

- Z is for Zoo…London Zoo is the world’s oldest scientific zoo and it’s also home to an incredible collection or animals, from Asiatic lions to snakes and lizards.
