1. Give London Zoo the hoof for a city farm
London Zoo has a fantastic range of animals sure, but every capital has a zoo, on the other hand, not every capital has a city farm!
Try Hackney City Farm and enjoy the company of goats, pigs, sheep and donkeys while enjoying the lovely café, and also taking the chance to explore the rest of hip, up-and-coming East London!
2. Skip the London Eye and try Paramount
Ok, so locals won’t go to Paramount for a quick pint after work, but if you’re looking for a view of London that isn’t from a plastic hamster ball (sorry London Eye) then this is the bar for you.
There’s no fee to get in – just ask at reception (which makes you feel just like James Bond) and take the lift to level 32 of the Centre Point building. Of course you’ll want to try the extensive cocktail list, but when you’re sipping on a Martini, looking out over London, you’ll know you made the right decision.
3. Forget Borough Market, visit Greenwich Market
Borough Market is a heaving square of fantastic smells (the chorizo sandwiches are worth the trip alone) but the crowds on the weekend can get a bit much.
So, if you’re looking for a destination that offers something for foodies, arts and craft lovers and purveyors of fine clothes, then Greenwich Market is for you. You skip the crowds, find the bargains and get to stay in one of our Greenwich hotels if you fancy making a weekend of it.
