November Roundup: The best gigs this month

Music fans at a gig with lights and mobilesIt could be you

As winter approaches, the idea of a dark, crowded room and the next big thing on-stage in front of you fast becomes the ideal antidote to a cold Friday night.

Luckily, you can catch some of the world’s biggest artists (as well as some of the UK’s most-loved bands) this November. Whatever you fancy – whether it’s the thrum of indie rock, the thumping bass of hip hop or a boogie to some disco – we’ve got you covered.

Get ready for the November gigs you simply cannot miss.

1. James, O2 Academy Oxford, 10th November

If you were a student in the ’90s, you’ve probably sung your heart out to ‘Sit Down’, ‘She’s a Star’ and ‘Come Home’. And if you’ve kept up with the Manchester Britpop outfit, you’ll definitely know they’ve reformed and are pulling in the fans from New York to Old Trafford.

This comeback tour is sure to be a walk down memory lane for any post-punk fans, but there’s also the promise of all-new material. So get booked in at our Oxford Travelodge now and start November happy.

2. The Specials, Roundhouse London, 15th November

London certainly won’t be a Ghost Town on the 15th November, so why not get a message to your mate Rudy and see if he’d like to join you for a very Special night at the Roundhouse in Camden?

The English two-tone and ska revival band will pack this intimate London venue to the rafters. It’s bound to be a night you’ll talk about in years to come.

Get online and book into our London King’s Cross Travelodge for easy transport links. And don’t forget to have some pre-gig drinks at local hotspot 6 St Chad’s Place before heading up to Camden.

3. Professor Green, O2 ABC Glasgow, 28th November

For those who shed tears when the last Pro Green gig was cancelled in May this year, it’s time to head north of the border.

Previously booked into Glasgow’s O2 Academy, the venue’s now moved to the O2 ABC – don’t be confused. The important bit is you’ll still get to bop your head to the louder-than-loud sounds: there won’t be space to do more.

Check into our Glasgow Travelodge now if you feel like making a weekend of it.

4. Basement Jaxx, O2 Academy Sheffield, 29th November

We finish off in Sheffield, a city renowned for musical talent and the perfect place for a party this November. And to top things off, it’s also the venue for Basement Jaxx’s brilliant live show, where you can get down to the likes of ‘Romeo’, ‘Red Alert’ and ‘Bingo Bango’.

If you’re looking for an act to banish those winter blues and rave the night away in a sort of pre-New Year’s Eve celebration, then look no further. Just remember to book up our Sheffield Travelodge in advance!
