Travelodge Launches New Heart-Healthy Buddha Bowl

50p goes to the British Heart Foundation (BHF) for every Buddha Bowl sold

Part of Travelodge’s new spring 2025 Bar Café menu, which launched this month

Customers visiting Travelodge Bar Cafés can now choose from a new range of delicious options from its new spring menu, including a tasty Heart-Healthy Buddha Bowl, created exclusively in partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The Buddha Bowl was developed with heart health and wellbeing in mind, ensuring the meal is a healthy option under 600 calories, and fits nutritional criteria provided by the BHF on low levels of saturated fat and salt. The Buddha Bowl contributes to maintaining healthy cholesterol and blood pressure levels.

These nutritious and delicious bowls are crafted with wholesome ingredients including a mix of black rice, tomatoes, avocado, azuki beans, soybeans, spring onion, mixed leaves and balsamic dressing. Guests also have the option of choosing chicken breast strips, chicken skewers or falafel as the main protein source.

The Heart-Healthy Buddha Bowl is designed to provide a balanced and nourishing option for health-conscious travellers and diners. It is a perfect meal for anyone looking to enjoy a light, fresh and healthy option without compromising on taste.

What’s more, Travelodge will donate 50p* to its longstanding charity partner, the BHF, for every Buddha Bowl purchased, with the bowl prices starting from £12.45**

Hayley Gunn-Bruce, Head of Corporate Partnership Management at BHF, added: “We’re proud to be working with Travelodge to raise awareness of the importance of a balanced diet. A healthy balanced diet can help reduce your risk of developing heart and circulatory diseases as well as many of the risk factors that cause them, including type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.

“Since 2017 Travelodge has raised over £1 million for our lifesaving research. It is thanks to their continued support, along with our supporters and charity partners, we are able to improve the lives of the 7.6 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases.”

The Heart-Healthy Buddha Bowl is available at any Travelodge with a Bar Café from this month. Alongside this, the new spring menu includes a variety of other options to choose from, including the Cuban Falafel Flatbread which is also under 600 calories and is made up of sweet potato falafel on a bed of mixed salad in a chimichurri sauce, served on a Middle Eastern-style hand-stretched flatbread. Or our Sizzling Butterfly Chicken Breast served with thick-cut chips, corn on the cob, dressed slaw and a side salad, for just 632 calories.

There are over 218 Travelodge hotels with Bar Cafés and 69 of those have the chain’s new style 85 Bar Café which is being rolled out in the company’s wider refit programme. The new 85 Bar Café provides a modern, relaxing and vibrant atmosphere, ideal for those looking to fuel up for the day ahead or wind down after a long day out. The new café offers guests a stylish and contemporary space to enjoy a meal but also gives business travellers the opportunity to relax or work.

In all Travelodge Bar Cafés guests can have breakfast, lunch or dinner, with meal deal offers starting from £14.50**, and you don’t even need to be a guest to tuck into some tasty Travelodge food. If you’re out and about looking for a place to eat, simply head over to a hotel with a Bar Café and you can enjoy a meal or drink.
