Today, Travelodge, the UK's number one budget hotel brand* has opened its 270th hotel, the largest budget hotel in Guildford. The £8 million, contemporary design hotel is located in the heart of Guildford, near the town centre, ideal for leisure and business guests.

The 152-bedroom hotel opened a month ahead of schedule and has already created 30 new positions within the region. Following a really successful opening, a further five positions have been created in the Bar Café restaurant. Room rates start from just £26, and this is per room, not per person. There is a choice of either a double, family or disabled room, each offering a comfortable setting with en-suite bathroom, luxury king size bed, colour TV with in room entertainment which offers pay on demand movies, telephone and Internet services and free tea and coffee making facilities. Free on site car parking is also provided for guests.

The hotel has a licensed Bar Café that offers a full English breakfast menu; eat as much as you like at £6.50 per head, children under the age of ten years eat for free. Throughout the day and evening an a-la-carte menu is available which offers tasty snacks, main meals, pizzas and deserts. An excellent range of wines and spirits is also available. A new childrens menu has been launched at Guildford Travelodge which offers a childs main meal at £2.50 each.

As consumer champion, Travelodge has launched a revolutionary search tool facility on its website www.travelodge.co.uk which shows customers exactly where there are available rooms within the UK at the low-cost rate of £26 (and £46** in Central London). This new search service will allow customers to find all Travelodge hotels that have a £26 / £46 room rate at a glance. If their preferred hotel is not available at this particular rate at the time they would like to travel, up to twenty of the next nearest hotel options will be provided at the same rate.

Over the next six years, Travelodge is planning to open 15,000 new rooms and create over 4,500 new jobs. In 2005, Travelodge is opening a new hotel every ten days and has the biggest expansion programme in place within the UK budget hotel sector. Travelodge has also completed a £20 million refurbishment for all of its hotels within the UK.
