Number one budget hotel brand issues list of most popular UK hotels.

We Brits love a bargain whether it's a free upgrade on a flight or a two-for-one offer. With prices from as little as £26*, Travelodge already has an undeniable reputation among business and leisure travellers on the hunt for great value accommodation. However, the UK's leading budget hotel brand is today going an extra step on behalf of discerning Brits looking to make the most of their money by releasing a list of ten of its most distinctive hotels that contradict the traditional perception of what and where a Travelodge is.

Whilst every room across the Travelodge estate offers the same amenities, the ten hotels listed below don't fit the standard Travelodge mould. These hotels offer an extra-special stay thanks to breathtaking views of the Scottish highlands, for example, or architecture dating back 200 years. So, whether you're on business and looking for some rest and relaxation or on a trip with friends or family, read on to see where you can find these Travelodge treats throughout the UK:

Travelodge's Top Ten from North to South (more detail at end):
1. Travelodge Inverness Fairways
2. Travelodge Durham
3. Travelodge Barrow-In-Furness
4. Travelodge Harrogate
5. Travelodge Halifax Central
6. Travelodge Stowmarket
7. Travelodge Cambridge Central
8. Travelodge Bath Central
9. Travelodge Leamington Spa
10. Travelodge Kings Cross

Guy Parsons, Travelodge Sales & Marketing Director, commented on the list; "These hotels are often a surprise to customers as they tend not to match their preconceived ideas of a Travelodge. They are always very popular, particularly when you compare rates to other hotels in similar areas. One hotel in Bath offers a double room for £290 - that's more than ten times as much as the nearest Travelodge! Although there are times when you do want five star accommodation, I find it simply staggering that hotels are willing to charge visitors such high rates. The savings made when staying with Travelodge could make your visit all the more memorable and that's what we're about: offering everything you need for a good night's sleep and nothing you don't, leaving you free to spend your money on other things."

Specific rooms can't be booked in advance but all is not lost! Customers staying at any of the above hotels can request a special room at the time of checking in depending on availability - just be sure to wear your best smile!
