Travelodge opens its second hotel by Swindon Designer Outlet
Swindon West Travelodge is the first of two hotels the company is opening in Wiltshire this year

Today, Travelodge, Wiltshire’s first branded budget hotel chain has opened the first of two hotels it is opening in the county this year. Swindon West Travelodge represents an investment of £6 million for third party investors and has created 20 new jobs within the community.
The purpose built, 70-room Swindon West Travelodge features an on-site restaurant, called the Bar Café and free car-parking. It is the closest hotel to the popular Swindon Designer Outlet. It is the company’s 582nd hotel and it’s second in Swindon and seventh property in Wiltshire.
Swindon West Travelodge was officially today by Gary Steele, Travelodge Regional Director for the South-West and Huw Huckridge, District Manager for Wiltshire.
This hotel is the first of two properties Travelodge is opening in Wiltshire this year. The other Travelodge is located in Chippenham and scheduled to open later this year. Collectively these two hotels represent an investment of £11 million for third party investors and will create 40 new jobs within the area.
Chippenham Travelodge is the company’s first hotel in the town centre. It is located at Langley Park, Foundry Lane, SN15 1JB. The 69-room hotel features an on-site restaurant called the Bar Café and is ideally placed for family-friendly fun at Bowood House only 15 minutes away. The hotel is scheduled to open later this year.
Swindon West Travelodge has been styled in the company’s contemporary brand design and features family, double and accessible rooms. All rooms feature the bespoke luxurious king-size Travelodge Dreamer bed, which sits within a mood lighting surround and has spacious bedside shelves for charging smart devices. All family rooms include two individual beds for the children.
Rooms also feature an en-suite bathroom, power shower, comfort cooling, to enable you to regulate the temperature of your room, a 32 inch Freeview TV, free in-room tea & coffee making facilities and access to Wifi. Rooms will start from £29 and can be booked at www.travelodge.co.uk
The Bar Café offers a great value breakfast, dinner and bar menu, offering an extensive unlimited breakfast menu at just £8.25 and an unlimited lighter breakfast for just £5.95. For each paying adult, two children eat for free

Therefore to fulfil this gap we have opened a second hotel in Swindon and our first Travelodge in Chippenham. These additions offer even more choice to travellers and boost our local network to eight hotels across the county.”

Swindon West Travelodge is being managed by Aneta Kopysc who received over 600 applications from locals to join her new team. Aneta was overwhelmed by the high calibre of applications that she recruited her 20-strong team within days.
Aneta is one of thousands of Travelodge staff members who have successfully climbed the career ladder from an entry level position into management. Aneta started at Travelodge in 2011 as a receptionist at Burford Cotswolds Travelodge. Within six months of joining the company, Aneta successfully secured a place on the in-house management programme called Aspire and within the year graduated into a management position.
