A warm welcome at picturesque Winslow

Winslow is an attractive historic market town in Buckinghamshire, around 10 miles from Aylesbury. The old church, St Laurence's, is worth a look, and you might also catch the buzzing farmers' market. Peckish? You'll find lots of good places to eat from modern restaurants to traditional British pubs, or try Lakers Garden Centre for a cup of tea and slice of cake. Perhaps the best way to enjoy Winslow is just by wandering the attractive streets with their mix of Victorian and much older timbered houses. Head to the Market Square for a good selection of shops.

This part of Britain has some great things to see and do. The National Trust's 18th century Claydon House is under five miles away or head to the fascinating Bletchley Park to find out all about code-breaking during the Second World War. For another slice of history, Buckingham Old Gaol Museum is great value, or racing enthusiasts will enjoy a trip to Silverstone. Animal lovers will enjoy the experience of having monkeys jump on their car at Woburn Safari Park or Green Dragon Rare Breeds Farm & Eco Centre is also close.

Shopaholics will find plenty to tempt their wallet at Milton Keynes or try Bicester Village for designer goods at bargain prices. Milton Keynes is also home to Gulliver's Land, great for families.
