Great beaches, music and more in Looe

Located on the Cornish coast around 20 miles east of St Austell, Looe is a small harbour town which is home to a busy fishing port and a sandy beach which is popular with locals and tourists alike in the summer. The town is also home to an annual music festival which takes place in September and has hosted acts as diverse as Jools Holland, Frank Turner and Lulu in the past.

Visitors to Looe can find out more about the area's history by visiting the town's Old Guildhall Museum and Gaol, which is home to a range of artefacts spanning the centuries. In addition, head to St Catherine's Castle to see the stunning ruins of a 16th century castle originally built by Henry VIII to defend the local Fowey Harbour.
