Baslow - peaceful Peak District neighbour to splendid Chatsworth

Visitors to the stunning Peak District will love to spend time in the idyllic village of Baslow, with its stone cottages and thatched rooves. Sit down and relax next to the village's 17th century stone arched bridge while the brook babbles beneath, or wander the streets and cluster of shops in the centre. Having enjoyed the delights of Baslow itself you're in the perfect position to explore one of the brightest jewels among England's stately homes: Chatsworth. Families will love the working farmyard with milking demonstrations and fabulous woodland adventure park, which has plenty to keep those little bundles of energy busy. Or you can admire the simply magnificent house and gardens where some scenes of the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice were filmed.

Explore the Peak District National Park

With its gorgeous scenery, the Peak District is a haven for walkers, cyclists, and those who simply enjoy a good view. Take a trip to Dovedale for soaring hillsides and the famous stepping stones, enjoy a walk or bike ride down the Tissington Trail which starts at Ashbourne, or visit beautiful Bakewell where sampling the local delicacy: Bakewell pudding, is a must.

Plunging the Heights of Abraham

At under half an hour away the spectacular caverns at the Heights of Abraham are a great sight, as is the spine-tingling cable car ride. Planning a trip to Baslow? Stay 20 minutes away at the Travelodge Chesterfield Hotel and check out the famous crooked spire, or Travelodge Sheffield Central is almost as Near.
