A modern seat of learning at Abertay University
One of two universities in the historic Scottish city of Dundee, Abertay has a fine reputation as a modern university which offered the world's first degree in computer games and is particularly well regarded for excellence in this field. The campus occupies a great central position in the city with main buildings including the Old College and Kydd Building as well as the award-winning library. Shops and eateries are within easy reach.
City of Discovery
Dundee enjoys a beautiful location on the shores of the river Tay. Head to the waterfront to explore one of the city's finest attractions at Discovery Point, where you can look round the ship that took Scott and Shackleton to Antarctica. If you feel the need to stretch your legs, walk up Dundee Law for panoramic views, or if you're with family then everyone will enjoy Camperdown Country Park with its animal enclosure. On a rainy day let little ones run off steam at the Nearby Camperdown Fun Factory.
Anyone for golf at St Andrews?
Around half an hour's drive away lies the coastal town of St Andrews, a must for golf lovers with seven courses. The Old Course is the most famous, or to give children a taste of the game try the smaller Balgove. On a sunny day head to the beach at the West or East Sands before treating yourself to an ice cream from Janetta's Gelateria. Planning a trip to Abertay University? Travelodge Dundee Central Hotel or Travelodge Dundee Strathmore Avenue Hotel are both close.
