Hit new heights in Withernsea

Around 18 miles from Hull, the seaside resort of Withernsea is perhaps best known for the famous inland lighthouse which sits in the centre of the town. Built in the 1890s, the structure stands 38 metres high and offers incredible views of the local coastline and countryside.

Explore Yorkshire's incredible coastline

Withernsea is a great starting point from which to go and explore much of what Yorkshire's dramatic coastline has to offer. One of its most impressive areas is the nature reserve on Spurn Point, a narrow sand tidal island which sits on the north bank of the Humber Estuary. Time your visit for the spring and summer when you may get the chance to see incredible bird migrations.

Embrace the culture of Hull

A visit to East Yorkshire simply would not be complete without sampling Hull. The UK City of Culture 2017 is home to a range of top attractions, with The Deep aquarium home to more than 3,000 underwater creatures. You can also discover more about the area's rich heritage at the Hull Maritime Museum and enjoy incredible performing arts at both the New Theatre and the Truck Theatre. Planning a trip to Withernsea? Travelodge Hull Central Hotel and Travelodge Hull South Cave Hotel are both close by and offer great value room rates.
