Exploring Brighton by day

With its laid-back vibe and seaside appeal, there's lots for everyone in hip Brighton. Wander The Lanes for a great array of eclectic boutiques where you can pick up anything from jewellery to clothes to a vegetarian lunch. Head to the seafront and bring out your inner kid at the Brighton Palace Pier, plus don't miss a walk down to The Royal Pavilion, famous for its exotic design. Sunny? Have a dip in the sea - Brighton beach has pebbles but there's sand along the seafront at the city's more sedate sister: Hove.

Brighton by night

Brighton really wakes up at night and you'll find a good selection of clubs and bars down by the arches on the seafront. There are plenty of quieter pubs around the city, seek out The Cricketers on The Lanes which has a lovely interior. You'll find great restaurants dotted around the place, or sample fish and chips on the seafront for something more low key. Looking for a cheap hotel Near The Great Escape Festival?
