Welcome to Roots Hall

Roots Hall is a football stadium just off Victoria Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, and the home of the League One team Southend United. With a capacity of over 12,000, it's the largest stadium in the county of Essex. It currently serves as the venue for the Essex Senior Cup final.

Southend on Sea - a timeless favourite

With seven miles of gorgeous coastline, Southend-on-Sea was developed heavily as a seaside resort during the Victorian era. To this day, it's still a favourite among many British holidaymakers. Come to enjoy its famous pier, family attractions like Adventure Island and the SEA LIFE Centre, or esteemed arts centres like the Cliffs Pavilion.

Hide and Shriek - not for the faint-hearted!

Hide and Shriek calls itself the no. 1 scare attraction in Essex, and once you visit it you're sure to agree! A unique live action experience, this will bring you face-to-face with horrors from countless works of fiction, from the paranormal to the simply grotesque. 2017 introduces The Seance, offering a chilling experience of genuine 18th-century seance techniques, and a look into the eerie paranormal history of Southend.
