Southend on Sea - a timeless favourite
With seven miles of gorgeous coastline, Southend-on-Sea was developed heavily as a seaside resort during the Victorian era. To this day, it’s still a favourite among many British holidaymakers. Come to enjoy its famous pier, family attractions like Adventure Island and the SEA LIFE Centre, or esteemed arts centres like the Cliffs Pavilion.
Hide and Shriek - not for the faint-hearted!
Hide and Shriek calls itself the no. 1 scare attraction in Essex, and once you visit it you’re sure to agree! A unique live action experience, this will bring you face-to-face with horrors from countless works of fiction, from the paranormal to the simply grotesque. 2017 introduces The Séance, offering a chilling experience of genuine 18th-century séance techniques, and a look into the eerie paranormal history of Southend.
