Step back in time

A small coastal town in the Vale of Glamorgan, Llanwit Major is bursting with history. Meander through its streets of medieval tithe barns, dovecotes, half-ruined Elizabethan manors and even the odd Roman villa. Take a tour of the Nash Point Lighthouse, the last manned lighthouse in Wales, and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. On selected dates, St Donat's Castle opens its doors to the public, giving visitors the opportunity to view its antique ceilings, fireplaces, moat, battlements and dungeons, and explore its manicured Tudor gardens.

A traditional pub

Receive a warm welcome at The Old Swan Inn, a traditional pub bar with a roaring fire and oak beams at the heart of the Llanwit Major community. On sunny days, enjoy traditional pub food as well as daily specials in its pleasant beer garden.

Hit the beach

Take a pleasant stroll through rustic countryside to Llanwit Major beach, a small, secluded rocky beach on which the kids'll have a good chance of finding fossils. Treat yourself to a cup of tea and an ice-cream at the lovely beachfront cafe.
