See Cinderford

Nestled in the heart of the Forest Dean, the market town of Cinderford is a relatively young settlement, having been developed largely in the 19th century. Cinderford is one of the main commercial hubs in the Forest of Dean, offering a great variety of shops, and a regular, vibrant open-air market. Visitors will also find 28 popular cafes, pubs and restaurants, serving everything from English classics to obscure, exotic dishes, along with a range of beers from local breweries.

Discover the Forest of Dean

The Forest of Dean is Britain's first National Forest Park, designated as such in 1938. Though nature conservation wasn't a big movement in the early 20th century, the area was recognised for its stunning natural beauty, and possibilities for outdoor activities. To this day, the forest is an incredible place to explore all year round, and the area just north of it is a rural paradise of vineyards, farmland and market villages.

Soak in the splendour of Westbury Court Garden

Though England is full of stately homes and gardens, Westbury Court Garden is a particularly special place. Originally laid out at the very start of the 18th century, this is the only restored Dutch-style water garden in the UK. Visitors can spend a tranquil afternoon seeing its lovingly-kept canals and hedges, as well as living Georgian vegetable plots and wide range of fruit trees.
