Small but perfect - The Mall Bromley

Some visitors claim that The Mall in Bromley, south-east London, is overshadowed by its bigger neighbour, The Glades, but, as they say, size isn't everything and small is beautiful. It originally opened in 1970 but has since undergone several refurbishments, the latest coming in 2007. It's now home to several big-name high street retail outlets.

Rural pursuits at High Elms Country Park

After spending time in a bustling town centre at Bromley's The Mall, visitors might like to get away from it all at High Elms Country Park, a local nature reserve covering 250 acres of the North Downs at Nearby Farnborough. A Site of Special Scientific Interest, it contains woodlands as well as formal gardens and several Grade II listed buildings.

Take a stroll in Church House Gardens

Also close by in Bromley itself are Church House Gardens, which has several attractions for children, including a play area, basketball and tennis courts and skateboard park, as well as a lake and ornamental gardens.
