Go bug hunting in Gunnersbury

Gunnersbury is an area of west London within the postal district of beautiful leafy Chiswick. Close to the world-famous Kew gardens and the deer at Richmond Park, Gunnersbury itself boasts tranquil green spaces with a much-loved nature reserve plus parkland currently benefiting from a multi-million-pound restoration. For a tranquil oasis in the heart of London, head to the Gunnersbury Triangle on Bollo Lane and see if you can spot any interesting bugs along the nature trail. Gunnersbury Park, with its Georgian mansions, is lovely for a wander and set to be an even bigger attraction complete with brand new sports park when restoration is complete.

Shopping and eating in lovely Chiswick

Wander down to the lovely area of Chiswick where you'll find a cluster of independent shops plus plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can sit down for a cup of coffee and watch the world go by. Head down Chiswick High Road for some good spots, before turning your steps towards the pubs bordering the river Thames for a pint with a lovely view. Charlotte's Bistro is award-winning for food and drink, and Foubert's ice cream parlour is a local institution.

A green paradise at Kew gardens and Richmond Park

The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew are a half hour's walk away or you can get both there and to Richmond Park via a short tube or train ride.
