An introduction to St Johns

St Johns is a mainly residential area in the north end of Lewisham, south London. Originally known as Deptford New Town, the area was designed as a spacious and affordable housing alternative for working class people in the last half of the 19th century. Today, it's the home of two London conservation areas, and has statutes in place protecting it from any excessive further development.
