No room for vertigo at Spinnaker Tower

Standing 560 feet in height, it's impossible to miss Portsmouth's Spinnaker Tower, which dominates the city's redeveloped harbour. Designed in the shape of a sail as a nod to Portsmouth's maritime history, it was opened in 2005 and attracts thousands of visitors every year. From the viewing decks you can see up to 23 miles away on a clear day. Sky Deck, the highest of the three observation platforms, has a wire mesh roof - and isn't for the faint-hearted.

Aspects of art at Aspex Gallery

A short walk from the Spinnaker Tower is Aspex Gallery, Portsmouth's foremost space for exhibiting contemporary visual art. Located in the Gunwharf Quays area, it specialises in supporting artists during the early part of their careers. Check out its website for details of the gallery's current and forthcoming exhibitions, as well as the numerous events and activity days it hosts.
