Ibrox - a stadium with real history

Dating back to the end of the 19th century, Ibrox Stadium is one of the oldest, largest and best-known football grounds in Britain. The 50,000-plus seater stadium on the south of the River Clyde has also hosted various cup finals and internationals, as well as music performances by acts including Frank Sinatra and Elton John, and even high-profile boxing matches.

Step into the future

Ibrox might be an historic area, but it's within walking distance of the Pacific Quay Media Park, which is home to the Glasgow Science Centre as well as BBC Scotland, STV and several other production companies. The Science Centre is backed with interactive exhibits, and is certainly worth exploring.

Paint the town red

Glasgow is famed for its culture, in particular its thriving live music scene and nightlife - both thanks to such legendary venues as King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on Sauchiehall Street. The Barrowlands Ballroom is also a particular favourite of many a music aficionado, while the West End's Oran Mor boasts live music, good food, theatre and a well-stocked whisky bar.
