Enjoying your time in the Lowlands
A small historic town in North Lanarkshire, Stepps is an ideal base for exploring Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Summerlee Heritage Park is based around the site of a 19th century ironworks, and includes Scotland's only electric tramway, recreated mine and miners' cottages, a superb exhibition hall with interactive displays and a great play park for all ages.

Just five miles from Stepps is Drumpellier Country Park. Free to visit, it has over 500 acres of varied habitats to explore, as well as a Peace Garden, nature trails, picnic spots and children's play areas. Strathclyde Country Park lies in 400 hectares of countryside in the valley of the River Clyde.
