Parklife - discover Battersea Park

Sat on the famous south bank of the River Thames, Battersea Park is a delightful green space with a history dating back to 1858. Formally used as market gardens, the park's marshland was reclaimed from the river - over which views of opulent Chelsea can be enjoyed. Battersea Park is well known for several pop culture appearances over the years, perhaps most famously Petula Clark's 1954 single 'Meet Me in Battersea Park' and more recently as the setting for the One Direction's music video 'One Thing'.

Exploring South London

The riverside location of Battersea Park leaves you within easy reach of some of the capital's most vibrant areas, and also some of its most peaceful. A relaxed half-hour's stroll away is Clapham Common where you'll find welcome serenity in the heart of this bustling city. You're also nicely placed for New Covent Garden Market, a pleasing throwback to simpler times and the UK's largest wholesaler of fruit, vegetables and flowers.

The world famous chimneys of Battersea Power Station

While no longer used for its original function, Battersea Power Station remains an icon within this most celebrated of skylines. A 9 billion regeneration of the station and its surrounding 42-acre site into new living and retail quarters is well worth a look around - especially since the landmark chimneys were restored in June 2017.
