A short hop from central London

Just eight miles from the centre of London, Raynes Park is a great place from which to explore the sites of the UK's first city. However, don't be fooled into thinking that the only value of the location is its proximity to the capital - there's plenty to do right here.

Things to do in and around Raynes Park

Boasting one of the largest proportions of green space in South West London, visitors to Raynes Park have a great choice of parks to enjoy. Morden Hall Park offers 125 acres of open parkland; take a stroll beside the river, spot an abundance of wildlife in the atmospheric wetlands, or let the kids burn off stream at the natural play area. Visit Wimbledon Common, with its 1100 acres of woodland, scrubland, heathland and grassed recreation areas that are home to an incredible variety of bird, animal and plant life. If, after all that open space, you find yourself craving bright lights and a bustling high street, pop over to Wimbledon village, with its chic blend of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

Anyone for tennis?

A short drive from Raynes Park is the All England Lawn Tennis Club, better known as Wimbledon. Even if you're not lucky enough to get a ticket to the Championships, the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum is still well worth a visit to learn about the history of the tournament since 1877. You could always chance your luck by joining the queue to catch a match for a truly memorable sporting experience. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay in Raynes Park, book a room at the London Raynes Park Travelodge hotel, or London Wimbledon Morden which is under 2 miles away from Raynes Park.
