Plenty to enjoy on the banks of the Mersey

The hustle and bustle of Liverpool is hugely popular, but you can see a different side to this fantastic city by heading east down the River Mersey and visiting Speke. Around 7 miles from the city centre, it is perhaps best known for Speke Hall and Gardens. The National Trust site is home to an impressive Tudor timber-framed manor house and hosts a range of events and activities throughout the year.

An area pivotal to the Beatles story

Speke may be home to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, but that is far from the only Beatles link to the area. Early band rehearsals took place at George Harrison's family home in Upton Green and you can learn more about this and other fascinating Fab Four facts by enjoying one of the local Beatles taxi tours.

Scenic Sefton Park

Not only is Speke in the perfect location for Nearby Liverpool John Lennon Airport, it also offers easy access to delightful Sefton Park. The Grade II three-tier dome conservatory Palm House is perhaps the most eye-catching feature, but you can just as easily while away an afternoon by the boating lake or soothing aviary.
