Pembroke - take a walk through nine centuries of history

Pembroke is a popular and charming walled town, with a history stretching back 900 years. This ancient town is known for its Norman castle, one of the most complete still standing in Britain, and the birthplace of Henry VII. The fortified Old Town also has impressively intact walls, complete with defensive posts such as Barnards Tower.

Pottering around Pembrokeshire

Known for its rich history and stunning scenery, Pembrokeshire is a truly idyllic UK holiday destination. The golden, sandy beaches, shadowed by towering cliffs, and miles of unspoilt countryside teeming with British wildlife, makes this a beautiful part of the country all year round.

Take wing at Ramsey Island Nature Reserve

Ramsey Island is a truly unique attraction - a beautiful, unspoilt RSPB nature reserve and home to a wide range of breeding and visiting birds. Edged by some of the highest cliffs in Wales, visitors can come here to get an up-close look at several breeding colonies of nesting birds. The island is also home to one of the largest colonies of Grey Seals in the UK, and from September through to December there are pups all over the beaches.

Planning a trip to Pembroke? Travelodge Pembroke Dock Hotel is right in the town centre, and Travelodge St Clears Carmarthen Hotel is a half-hour drive away.
