Highland racing at Perth Racecourse

Situated within the splendid grounds of Scone Palace, Perth Racecourse is Britain's most northerly horse racing track. Hosting jump racing fixtures from April to September including the popular three-day Perth Festival, this is a great place to come to enjoy the thrill of horse racing - and it can be hired out for lots of other events too. With the beauty of Perthshire and the Highlands just on the doorstep, plus any number of distilleries for those keen to enjoy one of Scotland's finest exports, there's plenty for everyone in the surrounding area.

The magnificent Scone Palace is rich in centuries-old history and both palace and grounds are open from April to September. In the winter, you can stroll the grounds for free on Fridays and weekends. Admire the rich treasures inside the palace and tour the beautiful gardens, before getting thoroughly lost in the maze. Golfers will be in heaven with plenty of courses in the area and famous St Andrews only an hour away. If it's a distillery you particularly want to visit, try the Famous Grouse Experience around 40 minutes away in Crieff.
