Travel back in time to historic Farnham

A cherished Surrey town just an hour from London, Farnham's cobbled streets and higgledy-piggledy buildings are part of a rich history. So if you're taking a trip to the town, make sure you make the most of its oldest attractions. Take a stroll around Waverley Abbey, the first monastery founded in Britain, to admire the 12th century architecture. Then be sure to visit Farnham Castle to see the Keep, a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Spend an afternoon at the Sculpture Park

While in Farnham, spend a few hours walking around the sculpture park. It's the world's largest sculpture exhibition open all year round, and because all the works are for sale, the exhibits are always changing. With 800 works on display, 10 acres of arboretum land and water gardens, The Sculpture Garden is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon in Farnham.

Fun for all the family at Alice Holt Forest

Head away from Farnham town centre and reconnect with the wilderness in Alice Holt Forest. Hire a bike and head for one of the forest's cycle trails, or grab yourself a map and join a walking trail, instead. There's also plenty to do for families, with play trails, a playwood and a 3D maze for kids of all ages. Looking for cheap hotels in Hampshire Basingstoke?
