Get blown away by the local windmill

One of Sleaford's most striking sites is the Heckington Windmill. It's the only 8 sailed working windmill in the world, and still mills grain from the local area to this day. The windmill is the perfect place to visit for families, with plenty of activities for the little ones (including a much-loved mouse hunt), and delicious food and drink available on site.

Learn about local aviation history

Travel back in time to explore the history of the Royal Air Force College Cranwell at the Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum. This legendary landmark was the first Military Air Academy in the world, and today is home to exhibitions telling the story of the college. There's even an interactive flight simulator to try. Also in Sleaford, you can enjoy the eclectic exhibitions on show at the National Centre for Craft & Design. What was once a seed warehouse has become one of the coolest museums in the country, featuring�five galleries.

Take a trip to historic Lincoln

Combining historic sites with modern shops and restaurants, there's plenty to do in Nearby�Lincoln. The impressive cathedral is well worth a visit - it used to be the tallest building in the world and offers stunning views from the tower - while history buffs will also enjoy exploring the castle, home to an original copy of the Magna Carta.
