Get back to nature in High Weald

High Weald is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a vast expanse of delightful countryside spreading throughout south-east England. Covering more than 560 square miles and spanning parts of Surrey, West Sussex, East Sussex and Kent, it's very popular among walkers and birdwatchers, with everything from kingfishers at Ardingly Reservoir to buzzards and hobbies at Nutley.

Take in a round of golf

For those who enjoy their nature somewhat more manicured, Dale Hill Golf Club just south of Bewl Water lake offers golfing in some of the country's most spectacular surroundings. It boasts two different 18-hole courses, both with their own unique challenges - as well as panoramic views.

Spring into action in Tunbridge Wells

Nestled within the AONB is the town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, known for its spring, which set it apart as a desirable tourist destination over 400 years ago. Today it remains a great place to visit - but the spring is only a small part of that. There are stately homes and gardens, plenty of parks and nature reserves, and even some local vineyards to be explored. Planning a trip to High Weald? Travelodge Tunbridge Wells Hotel is the obvious choice, the town surrounded as it is by the AONB, but Travelodge Hastings Hotel to the south and Travelodge Hickstead Hotel to the west are also worthy options.
