Foodie heaven in Surrey

Oxted is a very welcoming town, with a feast of food and drink festivals, traditional pubs and artisan markets providing good cheer. The cracking Oxted Beer Festival is like a pint-sized Glastonbury, while Oxted Country Market, held every Thursday, serves up homemade cakes and jams. The town also has an offbeat side - it hosts an annual charity pram race every July.

Take tea at Titsey Place

Dating back to the 16th century, Titsey is one of the largest surviving historic estates in Surrey. The house and its stunning gardens are open to the public on certain days throughout the summer months. Highlights include the family porcelain collection and a set of four Canaletto pictures of Venice. And be sure to savour a cream tea treat in the Tea Room.

See red squirrels at the British Wildlife Centre

If you're an animal lover, you'll adore this peaceful sanctuary Near Lingfield. See more than 40 species of native wildlife, including foxes, Scottish wildcats, hedgehogs, red deer, otters and red squirrels.
