Art and architecture in Chichester

One of England's newest higher education institutions, University of Chichester's main campus is located just a short stroll from the lovely city of Chichester. Most visitors head straight for Grade I listed Chichester Cathedral, the 900 year old church built in gorgeous Norman and Gothic styles. Don't miss the well-preserved 15th century bell tower. Chichester is also an arts hub. A few minutes away you'll find Oxmarket Centre of Arts, a volunteer led gallery supporting local talent, and Pallant House Gallery, housing a significant collection of modern British art.

Long walks in the South Downs

University of Chichester is just a few mintues in the car from England's youngest national park. Start at Goodwood House, an opulent 17th century manor housing an impressive art collection, which is open to the public from March to October. From there embark on a picturesque walk through the Cass Sculpture Foundation, where you can find grand contemporary sculptures dotted across 26 acres of woodland park, along with regular workshops, events and exhibitions.

Fun by the sea in Bognor

University of Chichester's Bognor Regis campus is located on England's gorgeous West Sussex coast. Enjoy a relaxing stroll down the iconic Bognor Pier, or head for the beach to top up your tan. Bognor West Beach is the town's busiest, or 3 miles east you'll find chilled out Pagham beach, home to a lovely nature reserve.
