The UK’s largest independent hotel brand
In 1985, Travelodge became Britain’s first value hotel brand when it launched in the UK, opening its first hotel at Barton under Needwood in the heart of England. Since those early days, Travelodge has gone from strength to strength and is now the UK’s largest independent hotel brand. With more than 590 hotels and 40,000 guest bedrooms across the UK, Ireland and Spain, you’ll find us in major city centres and towns as well as seaside locations and vital roadside stops. And we continue to expand, with new hotels planned to open and further locations identified for the coming years.
With a range of options to suit every budget, you’ll now find 14 Travelodge PLUS hotels giving all the great value you’d expect with added style and comfort we think you’ll love. More than 200 of our hotels have our on-site Bar Cafe restaurant, and almost all are located close to other restaurants and coffee shops, making Travelodge the ideal base when you’re travelling.

Our Travelodge rooms
Our rooms have been designed based on feedback from our customers about what they value most in a hotel.
In every room you’ll find the Travelodge Dreamer™ Bed, our luxury king size bed, produced by royal warrant holders Sleepeezee, featuring a mattress with 952 individual pocket springs, each designed to follow the natural contour of an individual’s body in order to provide the correct amount of support and comfort to ensure they receive a good quality night’s sleep. Other features in our rooms include a stylish white contemporary en-suite bathroom with shower, a large desk area, handy reading lights and a phone charging socket built into the bed frame. For families travelling with children, and for those adults sharing for a quick overnight trip, we have separate pull-out beds to accommodate two extra people in our family rooms.

We have a wide range of roles for people wanting to be part of our team, including front-line guest services, construction and maintenance and a number of positions in our support centre.
With a mix of full-time and part-time roles, we are an ideal employment choice for people who are looking to build their careers in hospitality, or fit work around other commitments, including working parents, students and people looking for a second career later in life.
All new team members undergo an induction programme to support them in being successful in their role and further training is made available for all team members to progress and advance their careers.
Over more than thirty years, we have helped thousands of people grow their careers and make the journey from entry-level jobs to management positions. Our management development programme, ‘Aspire’ is central to our approach, helping candidates secure externally recognised qualifications as well as practical management skills. We currently have many colleagues studying towards apprenticeship and management qualifications, as well as other colleagues developing through professional qualifications and on the job training.
Travelodge recognises the benefits of having a diverse workforce with different backgrounds and experiences, solely employed on ability, and it supports this belief with clear policies on equality and diversity and a track record of strong representation at all levels from people of all backgrounds. At Travelodge we monitor the diversity of job applicants, as well as the composition of our existing workforce by each protected characteristic in order to support a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion. We remain committed to evolving our approach to ensure it is embedded as a way of life across the organisation.
